Work

Selected works exploring material transformation, reflection, and form through clay and fiber.
This body of work investigates material transformation through serial form-making. Using a consistent, highly reflective glaze across hand-built and wheel-thrown vessels—many of which function as candelabras—I explore how proportion, distortion, and surface interact with light. The mirror-like, metal finish complicates the reading of the objects. Reflections capture light, surroundings, and at times the viewers themselves, inviting a perceptual dialogue between the form, its environment, and the observer. When lit, the work engages elemental fire and earth, emphasizing the interplay of flame, natural light, and material. The series functions as a cumulative study rather than discrete objects, highlighting repetition, variation, and material behavior. My practice prioritizes constraint and play, allowing subtle variations in scale, distortion, and surface to emerge, allowing the vessel to alter perception beyond functional expectation.
